A Blog About Life… Isn't That Unusual?

I see that last time I told anyone about my music collection was May 12, 2009. This means I must give an update. Here are my new statistics:

• 9,732 files
• 50.4 Gigabytes
• 652 hours, 29 minutes, 21 seconds

You can view a complete formatted list of all my music artists here or here(unformatted). (Please note that there may be some un-organization due to some songs being from miscellaneous sources, or having no actual band that played them. I do, however, assure you that this is my true music collection, and I listen to everything that is placed in my music folder.

The statistics are made using MediaMonkey, and selecting my music folder and waiting for all the statistics at the bottom to be done.

Well. Since I haven’t really been posting on my own blog for some time now. I figure I should tell you what i’ve been up to…

Really, I’ve been busy with family and work. Around July we went to Iowa for the Eliason side of my family. We shot some fireworks and talked for a while, and spent the night. Then the following day we drove straight up to Minnasota for the Flemmer side of the family. We stayed there for a few days and blew a bunch of crap up! It was great.

After the 4th of July was over, my dad had to have surgery on his neck because he had a node on his thyroid. They did a half thyroidectomy and flash freezed it, and tested it for carcinoma… The test came back positive, and the next day we went BACK to Sioux Falls to remove the other half of his thyroid. He’s still healing and still has one hell of a wound.

After the surgery and all this. My daughter was born: Alexa Jean Cross. Born on July 19th at 12:24pm.
Alexa is my life. I love her so much. She’s beautiful. She’s smart. She’s alert. She’s my little girl! I’m so proud to be a father, but I’m also nervous. It’s something that I will have to get used to. I just want what’s best for her.

Though all of this time that I haven’t been posting I’ve been working on other websites of mine. These include this family website, and my own personal buisness’ website. I plan to earn a little extra cash y fixing computers around town.
I’ve also been working on my mother of a computer. I got a new hard drive disk, two new 19″ flash screen LCD monitors, fixed the 120mm fan in the back, got more and faster RAM, upgraded my badly needed graphics card, for my birthday i’m getting a new power supply, and with that I will be able to install my new processor.

My new system specs:

Case – Sunbeam Transformer (ATX Full Size)
Power Supply – Antec EA650 650W
Motherboard – GIGABYTE GA-MA69VM-S (Flash version 9)
Hard Drive Disks – Western Digital 250GB + Hitachi 1TB (1TB holds my Operating System)
CPU – AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Kuma (2.8GHz Dual Core)
RAM – 3GB (1GB x 3) aData DDR2 800MHz
Video Card –  XFX ATI Radeon HD 4850

Yesterday was my birthday, I didn’t really do anything for it. My dad bought me the power supply and we ate a lunch with my family… On Saturday we plan on celebrating my 17th birthday…

This really sums up what I’ve been doing lately… I’ll try to post more later. Thanks.

~ Nick

Hahaha. I see you’ve noticed the new template… I swear these things keep getting darker and dark, more evil and more evil. I love it. Anyway, I enjoy this layout because it’s actually really organized, I didn’t think it would be, but that’s amazing!

I’ll add the digsby widget this evening, when I’m not so worked up.

Another thing I want to talk about in this post is that I have a twitter account now. The URL for that is: http://twitter.com/DSMexiCo (hard to guess, right?)
So far I havent really liked twitter at all, so I might just delete the account if I dont use it. Still, I’m going to say it: Follow me on twitter.

So here I am again, looking at how much music I have. I’m amazed. Seriously, only about 7 years of collecting music and I have 39.2GB worth of music. Here are some statistics I’ve done.

• 7,799 Files (AUDIO FILES ONLY)
• 529:23:24 (Thats 529 Hours, 23 minutes, and 24 seconds)
• 345 Bands (A little more, due to a misc folder.)
• 1,179 folders in my music folder.

And heres the math behind it:

529 / 24 = 22.0416 repeating… This means 22.0416 days of music.

22 / 7 = 3.1488095238 weeks of music.

Now seriously. This is a lot. Right? A sixteen year old should not have this much music! xD
If I just played my entire library of music without repeat on, it would play straight for 3 freaking WEEKS. That’s over half a month.  Nonstop. That is a lot of music. I love music, it really is my life.

First of all I just want to say: Sorry for going against my rules about not bringing up MexiCompany, but I don’t have another place to put this, and I don’t want to create yet another blog on my sever.

WEB 2.0!
When people finally figure out what it is, they’re amazed that they are the ones that make websites… websites now. The web designer just has to make the platform for the users to (so to speak) throw up on.
Anyway. This goes on for some time, then someone gets the idea, “I’m going to screw everyone over” and erases everything on a certain page. Everyone gets pissed. Then everyone is whining about how easy it is to deface websites in web2.0.  I believe this is where most people stop ranting about web2.0 and deal with it….

Alright….. WELLLLLLLL…. I just bought another big item… Another laptop. This one is for my girlfriend and my future baby. It’s nothing too special, I bought it because it was really cheep, and a good deal.

System Specs:

Intel Pentium dual-core T3400(2.16GHz)
14.1″ Wide XGA
 2GB Memory DDR2 667
 160GB HDD
DVD Super Multi
Intel GMA 4500M

As you can tell. It is just a basic mid-level laptop… I got it for $400 which is actualy an amazing deal. You can find more info and possibly buy is here.

It arrives on the 27th, I’ll do a little review on it when I do receive it.

Yeah, I decided after my websites all went down for about 3 hours, and have just recovered. I should write a blog post!

I’m BORED! Yes, I really am. I’m just sitting in my class, reading stupid crap I found the internet. I’m not really even in a class. I’m in SRB (Student Reading Block) It’s where you get an hour and a half to “read” when really all anyone does is get on their computers and play games.

Anyway……………….. I havent gotten any more new music since, like, two weeks ago, and I don’t really know what to write. This class gets over in about 7 minutes, so I have to finish up now. GOODBYE EVERYONE!

~Very bored, hungry, and sleepy MexiCo

So I’m sitting here in the office at my school… I got kicked outta English for not doing my stuff… Anyway. I was wondering about this: Why when you get kicked outta the room, you go to the office, sit down, and wait? That means, everyone in the same group (people who do nothing) are in the same room, just causing more havoc. Isn’t there a better way to deal with this? Lol. Just wondering….

Yeah, you guessed it, the title is, “you gotta be f**king kidding me, this is bull sh*t.”

Basicly, a few nights ago there was this girl… Like, wow… Emo as HELL. and I was forced to talk to her until 3 in the morning… Just read, really. WTF. Oh, and by the way, you’ll find out a lot about the position i’m in :]
I’ll write about that later…

I really dont know what to write about… I mean, I COULD say Merry Christmas, but I think it’s a little too late… Happy 2009…. 2009 sucks. I just dunno what to say… Sorry that it’s so dead here now… I just need a life or something.
